Privacy Policy

Last updated November 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DataLinq, operated by 17 Web Dev, LLC (doing business as OneSeven Tech) (“DataLinq,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses and shares information when you use the DataLinq data portal at datalinq.ai (the “Portal”). The Portal is invite-only and is used by companies that want DataLinq to review, and potentially license, data they own.

This policy covers information about the people who use the Portal. Datasets that a company submits are handled under the Terms of Use and any agreement between that company and DataLinq; section 3 below explains how we treat them.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • Account details: your name, work email address, role and the company you represent.
  • Company and submission details: company profile, contacts, dataset descriptions, licensing preferences and your answers in the submission form.
  • Attestations: your typed name, title and date when you confirm the data-rights statements, plus the exact wording you agreed to.
  • Messages: questions you send us through the Portal and emails you exchange with us.
  • Access details for data sources, if you choose to give them so we can pull data. These are encrypted when stored.

Information collected automatically.

  • Security and activity records: your IP address, browser type, sign-in times and the actions you take in the Portal (for example, submitting a form or downloading upload keys). We keep these to secure the Portal and to keep an audit trail.
  • A single sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
  • Bot protection on the sign-in page, provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process technical details about your browser.

2. How we use information

  • To run the Portal: sign you in, store your submission and files, and show you its status.
  • To review submitted data, assess its value and talk to you about licensing it.
  • To email you about your account and submission: sign-in links, invitations, status updates, answers to your questions and indicative price ranges.
  • To keep the Portal secure: rate limiting, preventing abuse and investigating problems.
  • To meet legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or send you marketing emails from the Portal.

3. Data your company submits

Datasets and samples uploaded to the Portal belong to the submitting company. We use them to review the data and to discuss licensing it with you. We do not share any submitted data with a buyer or other third party until your company has agreed to that in writing. If a dataset contains personal information about other people, your company is responsible for having the right to share it with us; see the Terms of Use.

4. Legal bases (EU and UK users)

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we rely on: performing our contract with you or your company; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Portal and evaluating data for licensing; complying with the law; and your consent, where we ask for it.

5. Who we share information with

  • Service providers who host and run the Portal for us: Render (application hosting and database), Cloudflare (file storage, domain and bot protection) and Resend (email delivery). They may only use the information to provide their services to us.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of DataLinq, our users or others.
  • A buyer or successor if DataLinq is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
  • Anyone else only with your company’s permission.

6. How long we keep information

We keep account and submission information for as long as your company works with us and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and audit needs. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and sessions after 7 days of inactivity. Uploaded files are protected against deletion for 90 days after upload so that a submission cannot be lost or altered by mistake; after that, we delete files on request or when they are no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information deleted;
  • object to or restrict certain uses of it; and
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To make a request, email james@oneseventech.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, single-use sign-in links, short-lived upload keys, role-based access and an audit log of actions in the Portal. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep sign-in links and upload keys private and tell us at once if you think they have been exposed.

9. International transfers

DataLinq is based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

10. Children

The Portal is for business use only. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, if a change is significant, tell active users by email.
